Press Top Fast Forge and Prefilling Tank

(Push-down Presses only)


Oilgear offers two options for our fast forging systems.  The first and preferred option is the press top mounted fast forge valve manifold with atmospheric prefilling tank.  This design offers optimum performance due to the minimal oil volume required to be compressed and decompressed each stroke.

Additional performance enhancements are realized by use of our twin-header system that allows flow from the A-Header to be constantly pumped to the main cylinder(s) even while the press is being returned, resulting in a much faster response time when switching from Stop Forge to Forge.

Also, because of the fact that the pump flow is always flowing in the same direction and is only switching directions between the main cylinder(s) and the fast forge valve, no shocks are experienced.

Hydraulic Systems Features

Oilgear's hydraulic forging systems feature fixed displacement and variable displacement pumps, and specially developed, large capacity sinusoidal servo controlled "Fast Forge" valve assembly.

Floor Mounted Fast Forge Valve and Air Loaded Prefilling Tank

Oilgear offers an option to mount the fast forge valve system at floor level, or sub-floor level in combination with an air loaded prefilling tank. This system is mainly used for pull-down (inverted presses), although it can also be used for push-down presses.

In 1996, Oilgear was contracted by Aubert & Duval to upgrade the Interforge 65,000 Ton Open Die Press, the largest press in the occidental world. Oilgear contributed to one of the greatest achievements in forging history by providing its famous Servo Valves.
